| Cancellations | Lessons may be cancelled, but I do not usually provide make-up lessons. When a cancellation is made before the day of the lesson, you are not charged for that lesson. But, if you notify me the day of a lesson, you will be charged 1 lesson cost - unless there was an emergency, sickness, or bad weather.

| Payments | Lessons are $15 for 30 minutes ($14 for 2 or more students). I do not charge extra if a lesson goes beyond the 30 minutes. You may pay weekly or monthly.

| Practice Time | A student cannot learn piano by just going to lessons. It requires devotion, self-discipline, and time. A minimum of 30 minutes every day is expected. Assignments are not excused until they are near perfection.
|
|---|
| Music Books | I will pick up necessary music for each student at a music store for you. You do have a choice on whether or not you want the books. You are not required to purchase any books that I suggest you use.
|
|---|
| Musical Dedication / Desire | Having a desire to learn the piano is important and key to learning. If a child does not want to learn and does not practice, then the child will not learn. I make learning the piano a fun and enjoyable experience for each student while the student is here, but at home, the student must have a self-sustained desire from within that is reflected by a desire to practice and work hard.
|
|---|
| Concert Recitals | I offer one or two recitals a year, where the students perform in front of others. Students are not required to be involved, but since music is usually shared with other people, it is highly recommended that the students learn to feel comfortable performing in front of other people. Playing at your church or in nursing homes is also encouraged.
|
|---|
| Theory | I highly recommend that students learn theory as well. Although theory is "book work" and not playing the piano, it will improve the student's understanding of the relationship between the notes and also why music is written the way it is.
